About Me
My name is Dimitris Kalogeropoylos and I am currently an undergraduate student at the Computer Science Department of University of Ioannina, in Greece. Although I enjoy programming, my interests are mostly focused on people. I like using web 2.0 services and I am an early adopter of whatever looks cool and interesting out there. What really amazes me, is the social media and the power they have to change the way people are thinking. I also love taking part in brainstorming sessions or talking with people renowned for their ideas and their way of thinking. When I need to calm, I drive, it makes me feel free. I dare to call myself a “pure petrolhead”, so I am trying to keep up with all the latest news in the car industry.
In my spare time, I am blogging in pestaola.gr and my articles are focusing on automotive news from around the world. I am also studying social media and how all these things can be used in the web. In the past, I have worked on noob.gr as an editor and later as HR Director. [More working information can be found at my linkedin profile]
I am attending OpenCoffee meetings in Greece whenever that is possible and in April of 2008 I attended The NextWeb 08 Conference in Amsterdam, Holland. Since then, I also participated in LeWeb 09 and in The NextWeb Conference that took place in April of 2009. In the 5th of May, 2010, I attended TEDxThessaloniki.
In the 20th of October in 2008, in collaboration with Panagiotis Tigas, we organized the second Ioannina Open Coffee event. Hopefully, we will organize and the upcoming OC events.
I have also participated in a two-days EQ seminar that was held by business-seminars.gr.
